Summary: Every year we discover new possibilities of diabetes treatment using modern technologies. In Poland, treatment with personal insulin pumps is common thanks to reimbursement for infusion sets and, recently, for limited groups of patients, also reimbursement for continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMS). Research is still ongoing on even more precise insulin pump software that allows for treatment in a closed loop, without the participation of patients or with their minimal participation. Today, new technologies used in the treatment of type 1 diabetes make it possible to continue life activity like patients who do not have diabetes.
