Summary:
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are one of the most frequently used drugs in the pharmacotherapy of pain. Nimesulide in topical application form is a new quality in the pharmacotherapy of pain due to the fact that so far there has been no local drug available on the market, which, in addition to inhibiting the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostanoids, additionally affects other mediators whose action increases both inflammation and affect for pain transmission. It shows high efficiency and an optimal safety profile in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain in topical application.
