Aceclofenac in pain management: Why, when and to whom?
Summary:
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disease in the world and the main cause of joint pain and disability in patients. OA is characterized by progressive damage to the articular cartilage and remodeling of the subchondral bone within the synovial joints (diarthroses). Typical clinical symptoms in the course of this disease include pain and stiffness in the joints, deformities and joint dysfunction. OA can affect the knees, hips, hands and spine, and women, the elderly and those with pre-existing joint damage are at increased risk of developing OA. One of the NSAIDs that is used in inflammatory pain is aceclofenac.
