Triple therapy for asthma: When and who for?

Summary: Triple therapy was introduced for the first time utilizing beclometasone/formoterol/glycopyrronium (BDP/FF/G) with great success. It reduced the number of exacerbations, enhanced pulmonary function and increased the time to the first exacerbation. The paper summarizes the rationale for the aforementioned treatment, discusses the most important clinical trials for triple therapy in asthma and describes the most important clinical outcomes. The authors focus on practical issues in asthma treatment which may be solved by this very new approach.
