Unique prebiotic support in intestinal disorders: Fibraxine
Summary:
Colonic diverticulosis is the most common pathology of the large intestine in individuals aged over 50. The spectrum of the clinical manifestations of diverticulosis, which has special importance in outpatient clinics, includes symptomatic uncomplicated diverticular disease (SUDD). A key role in the development of symptoms is played by the inflammatory process and gut microbiota. Therefore, the therapeutic strategy in the disease relies on long-term treatment with rifaximine-α and soluble fiber. Arabinogalactan as soluble fiber not only positively impacts gut microbiota but is also a source of short-chain fatty acids. The effectiveness of the combination of arabinogalactan and lactoferrin (Fibraxine) in symptomatic uncomplicated diverticular disease has been demonstrated in clinical trials.
