When fungi stop being digestive commensals

Summary: Fungi are organisms in human intestinal microbiota. When imbalance in the organism happens they from commensal become pathogens, They cause infections and their symptoms in the digestive tract, but not only. Then, antifungal therapy is necessary, sometimes for several months. Candida infections dominate, but they can also be infections caused by Aspergillus, Cryptococcus, Blastomyces or Histoplasma fungi.
