Summary: Remote medical consultation is linked to multiple legal problems. It is crucial to answer questions related to personal data protection, necessary information for patients as well as the level of trust that might be extended by the medical doctor to information collected from a patient in remote mode. In Polish practice it is equally important to address issues that are linked to prescribing reimbursed medicinal products by mean of remote consultation. The paper discusses the rights and obligations of medical doctors, the limits of trusting patients, and legal liability for remote consultation. The author also outlines telemedicine legislative history and key binding provisions of the law.
