SARS-CoV-2 vaccines: current state of knowledge

Summary: Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 is a novel respiratory pathogen that can cause an infection known as COVID-19. It was discovered in Wuhan, China in December 2019, and then spread throughout the world, causing huge losses to health and economic development. Vaccinations are still routine and effective way to prevent and control of many infectious diseases. Currently, many institutions around the world have started researching vaccines against COVID-19. Based on the experience and conclusions from the research on SARS and MERS coronaviruses vaccines, research strategies for SARS-CoV-2 vaccines have been developed and key issues to be addressed when developing new vaccines.
