Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the world’s most common infections encountered in everyday practice. The clinical picture and treatment differ according to the level of the urinary system, the patient’s age and clinical status, including immunological function, and the presence of risk factors. The paper discusses the UTI classification, etiology, risk factors, diagnostics, current treatment and preventive strategies.
