Lidocaine in otitis – action, safety, application

Summary: Lidocaine is an amide local anesthetic and is used as an anesthetic for mucosa, subcutaneous tissue and body surface. When used with glycerol, which strengthens the skin’s permeability to lidocaine, it adapts to pain in the course of ear function with minimal associated effects. It works quickly and is used in children and adults in places where the endings of pain neurons are located, such as the skin of the external auditory canal and on the surface of the tympanic membrane.
