Summary: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common problem that significantly worsens the quality of life of patients and could contribute to serious complications such as reflux esophageal stricture and esophageal adenocarcinoma. It is also often a diagnostic and therapeutic for physicians. The article presents a study on gastroeosphageal reflux disease with particular emphasis on treatment in the light of the latest consensus developed by an expert group appointed by the Polish Society of Gastroenterology.
