Summary: This article provides updated information on gastroesophageal reflux and related disorders in children, including current definitions and terminology. The specificity of reflux in infancy has been pointed out. Current diagnostic methods and their practical application are discussed. The approach to medical and surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in children are presented.
