Sinusitis as an allergic rhinitis sequelae. How can we prevent it?

Summary: Allergic rhinitis, when severe, chronic and/or undertreated may lead to various forms of clinical rhinosinusitis. The latter is a serious problem for public health. Therefore, we need effective, fast and widely accepted by patients treatment of AR leading to decrease the risk of sinusitis. In this short review we are discussing these aspects focused on mometasone furoate/olopatadine intranasal combination spray in one delivery system. When the medication is very effective in allergic rhinitis control, it may also deliver the prevention effect on its sequelae including sinusitis. Therefore, we postulate the change of treatment recommendations.
