Continuous glucose monitoring for every diabetic patient?

Summary: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) is the preferred glucose monitoring method in most recent guidelines (ADA, EASD, PTD) for people treated with intensive insulin therapy, but it is also suitable for all people with diabetes. Continuous glucose monitoring automatically tracks blood link "https:// www.niddk.nih.gov/Dictionary/G/glucose" glucose levels throughout the day and night. Unlike a blood glucose meter, which only gives a current glucose reading, CGM devices show additional insights into metabolic control of diabetes. Seeing glucose levels in real time enables diabetics to make more informed decisions throughout the day about how to balance food, physical activity and medicines. Compared with a standard blood glucose meter, using a CGM system can help to better manage glucose levels every day, decrease hypoglycemia risk, decrease glucose variability and improve quality of life.
