Summary: Back pain is pain felt on the dorsal side, along the vertical axis of the body. It is non-specific, associated with diseases of the spine and spinal cord, or the musculoskeletal system with accompanying nerves. Back pain is a lifestyle disease and a frequent reason for visits to primary care physicians and hospital emergency departments. Treatment of back pain should be multidisciplinary. In terms of pharmacological management, non-opioid analgesics are used, both systemically and locally, opioids, co-analgesics, as well as new analgesic technologies, such as ThermaCare warming compresses. The essence of the procedure is the individualization of therapy.
