Harm reduction after the COVID-19 pandemic

Summary: Although the COVID-19 pandemic has not completely ended, there are more and more publications and statistical studies describing the health effects in a society affected by the SARS-CoV-2 infection. The epidemic has revealed the occurrences that will require quick solutions, e.g. shortening of life expectancy, excessive number of deaths, negligence in monitoring of chronic diseases, delayed detection of cancer and a large field of mental disorders in the post-COVID period. The poor condition of medical workers and the weakness of the health care system, will be the cause of the long-term consequences of the pandemic.
