Summary: Rhinosinusitis is a pretty common disease influencing patients’ quality of life. Western lifestyle influences the prevalence of the disease. Sinusitis causes an important cost for healthcare systems. The review focuses on the role of mucoactive agents as an adjunctive therapy of rhinosinusitis in the new EPOS 2020 guidelines. Novel mucoactive agents can aid the evacuation of mucus, reduce the duration of the disease and improve the quality of life of patients with rhinosinusitis.
