Summary:
Cough is one of the most common causes of office visits for doctors of different board certifications, not limited to chest physicians. It is also a source of concern for patients and medical personnel. Previous cough workup guidelines were supported by relatively low-quality evidence. The new ERS cough guidelines are fully grounded in evidence-based medicine. In this review we focus on the aforementioned practice parameters’ explanation and implementation in our everyday practice.
