Summary: New asthma treatment guidelines were published recently. From the very beginning they have been a source of doubts and controversies for physicians and patients. In this review we focus on comparing the changed and unchanged areas in asthma treatment. We also address questions coming from Polish doctors about the new treatment approach. Some aspects of asthma treatment in Poland remain unchanged despite the new GINA 2019 guidelines. Asthma therapy needs individualization according to evidence-based medicine.
