Summary: Glucocorticosteroids are commonly used in asthma treatment, as well as in some cases of COPD and a few other lung dise-ases. Is their administration in COVID-19 therapy justified and beneficial? Might patients treated with them for other diseases have a higher risk of contracting SARS-CoV-2 and developing severe COVID-19? The review tries to answer these difficult qu-estions based on current knowledge.
