The role of coordinated health care in shaping lifestyle and pro-health attitudes of patients
Summary:
Lifestyle and health behaviors have a significant impact on the quality of life. Factors determining human health include lifestyle, health behaviors, physical, cultural and psychosocial environment, genetic factors, and health care. Healthy lifestyles are associated with a specific diet, avoidance of tobacco and alcohol, physical activity and the ability to combat stress. Analyzes show that people who lead the healthiest lifestyle have a lower risk of death, cardiovascular events and cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes. Conducting a comprehensive lifestyle assessment is essential to identify unhealthy behaviors and prevent their consequences. Poles would like to live healthier, but they have problems with implementing and maintaining habits. 85% declare concern for their health, and only 14% are not involved in activities to improve their health. Statistics on behavior and health state somewhat contradict these positions. More than half of Poles suffer from weight problems, a quarter of adult Poles smoke cigarettes, and a third do not engage in physical activity regularly. Coordinated health care can have a positive impact on the health of the society. It leads to the improvement of the efficiency indicators of the system, which include the accessibility, quality and efficiency of care. It carries out educational, preventive and promotional activities that influence the development of the lifestyle and pro-health attitudes of patients under care. Primary health care in Poland can meet the needs of citizens in the field of accessibility management - securing basic emergency problems, disease management – stabilization of patients with a chronic disease carried out by the POZ team and cooperation with AOS specialists, including in particular health management - carrying out preventive examinations, health education and early diagnosis of diseases.
