Management approach to secondary glomerulonephritides according to KDIGO Clinical Practice Guidelines 2021
Summary:
Glomerulonephritides are a heterogeneous group of diseases. They may be either primarily caused by the pathological changes mainly in glomeruli or secondary as a result of systemic disorders with kidney injury such as systemic lupus erythematosus, ANCA (antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies)-associated vasculitis, disorders of complement system or infections. This review presents new KDIGO (Kidney Diseases Improving Global Outcomes) guidelines, part on secondary glomerulonephritides published in 2021. These recent guidelines update the previous guidelines on diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring published in 2012.
