Treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease – case study

Summary: Alcoholic (AFLD) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) belong in the practice of gastrologist, hepatologist and family physician to common pathologies responsible for the increase in transaminases observed in routine laboratory tests. While in the case of AFLD the triggering factor is well known and therefore the treatment is strictly concretised, in the case of NAFLD we do not know one direct factor responsible for the development of this pathology, which makes it difficult to choose the optimal therapy.
