Should we always treat allergic rhinitis with intranasal steroids?
Summary:
Allergic rhinitis treatment seems to be an easy task for the allergist, ENT or GP. Interestingly, in more than 70% of cases, patients seem to require more than one medication to control their rhinitis symptoms. Current guidelines address this issue insufficiently. In this review we try to find gaps and traps in the approach to allergic rhinitis treatment. We also compare the efficacy of a few drugs utilized in AR treatment. We also come up with some solutions to the problem. We posit changing the place of the AZE/FP combination from almost the last treatment to first-line AR therapy in some cases.
