Summary:
In the treatment of allergic diseases including urticaria, the first line of treatment are antihistamines, which came into use as early as in the 1940s. They quickly gained a good reputation from specialists all over the world due to their high clinical efficiency. The latest generation of antihistamines is characterized by a strong and selective effect on histamine H1 receptors. However, there are reports of allergic reactions to various antihistamines, which belong to almost all classes. The article presents a review of the literature and describes the cases of patients with urticaria caused by antihistamines.
