New generation of antihistamines for treating allergic diseases in children
Summary:
Antihistaminic drugs are widely used in pediatrics, especially in the treatment of allergic diseases. The first generation, despite being used for many years, lacks scientifically proven efficacy and safety. The second generation, on the other hand, has been thoroughly tested for both these important aspects. The paper briefly summarizes their action. Then, the newest guidelines for their use with allergic diseases are discussed.
