Combined drugs in the pharmacotherapy of pain, or why the combination of diclofenac and omeprazole increases the effectiveness of pain treatment, reducing the risk of complications
Summary:
Non-steroidal anti-infl ammatory drugs are the basic drugs used in the treatment of infl ammatory receptor pain. It is worth remembering that both in the treatment of inflammatory rheumatic diseases in which NSAIDs are used, as well as in exacerbations of a degenerative disease or other inflammatory pain syndromes in the locomotor system, in practice we often do not have the option of an alternative treatment to NSAIDs. In order to improve the effectiveness of therapy in groups of patients with high gastroenterological risk, there are permanent combinations of NSAIDs and omeprazole available on the pharmaceutical market. Such a permanent combination of NSAIDs and PPIs gives the opportunity to improve the quality of pharmacotherapy and the patient's discipline in therapy, which not only translates into clinical success but also reduces the risk of side effects.
