Summary: Lipid disorders are the basis for the development of many diseases referred as cardiovascular diseases, in which the most common causes of death in the population of older people in highly developed countries are located. The necessity to conduct proper diagnostics and implementation of effective treatment brings huge benefits, both individual for each patient and for the whole population. In the era of effective and safe forms of therapy, it is absolutely necessary to implement treatment regimens based on the latest developed guidelines, while remembering that very important factor of effective therapy is trust between the doctor and the patient.
