Combination hypotensive therapyin chronic kidney disease accordingto the newest guidelines

Summary: Hypertension is very common in chronic kidney disease. Generally, it is resistant hypertension. There are many underlying pathomechanisms of hypertension in chronic kidney disease, thereby multidrug therapy is usually required. Despite many advantages of combination therapy in hypertension, it appears that at advanced stages of chronic kidney disease, there is a limited place for these drugs, mainly due to the necessity for loop diuretics and individualization/uptitration of other hypotensive drugs.
