Summary: The review paper deals with the issue of dry powder inhalers (DPI) available for children, with particular emphasis on the Diskus and the Generic Diskus. We have many DPIs with different drugs, but only drugs registered in the Diskus (fluticasone propionate, salmeterol, a combination of fluticasone propionate with salmeterol and salbutamol) and Generic Diskus (a combination of fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) can be used in children from the 4th year of age. The Diskus with the medicines it contains is the best-studied DPI in children.
