Hypertension in the elderly – from pathogenesis to successful treatment – a case with commentary
Summary:
The paper presents the clinical case of an elderly patient with uncontrolled hypertension on two antihypertensive drugs. Guidelines regarding the treatment of hypertension in the elderly, focusing on pathogenesis and on calcium channel blockers and thiazide-like diuretics, are also discussed.
