Single-pill combinations in the treatment of hypertension – choice or necessity?
Summary:
The guidelines emphasize the use of single pill combinations (SPC) in the treatment of hypertension. The presented article discusses the settings for preferring SPC based on current guidelines. A simple algorithm of antihypertensive therapy was also presented – it is based on the use of SPC since the initiation of antihypertensive therapy. National and European guidelines in relation to combination therapy were compared.
