Summary: Recent guidelines from the European Society of Cardiology and European Society of Hypertension (ESC/ESH) published in August 2018 concern the management of patients with hypertension. The authors underline the significance of the assessment of organ damage with left ventricle hypertrophy as one of the most important factors affecting management and prognosis. The influence of telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, on left ventricle hypertrophy is discussed in this paper according to recently published research.
